2004 Tahoe Door Key Lock Not Working

Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again.

But cannot get the on off on off while holding the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob to work. I replaced the power window mirror door lock switch on my 2009 tahoe. Have to manually unlock door from inside. For vehicles with traditional style door lock cylinders and keys a bad power door lock relay will merely disable the power door lock feature.

I checked fuses in the interior fuse box and all fuses dealing with door lock are not working but not blown. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again. Both my remote entry fobs for my 2004 silverado quit working at the same time. However there could also be a mechanical or electrical problem with the door locks.

The problem turned out to be that the fuse for my cigarette lighter was bad and for some reason it also must be working in order for the door locks to work. The relay seems to be working for the door locks when i hit the remote but the locks do not respond and the fuse is still good for the door lock. Get into the vehicle from another door if the door you are working on will not let you enter the vehicle. It only happens to back doors and whenever it is hot outside in phx is all the time.

Open the door with the broken or damaged actuator from the inside of the vehicle. However vehicles without door lock cylinders will not be able to lock or unlock the doors until power is restored. The only button that works is the driver side window. Try operating the door lock switch to rule out the idea that the door lock is not working.
